Embattled United Party for National Development – UPND Vice President Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba, better known as GBM, got angry when UPND President Hakainde Hichilema was released from prison after the state dropped the treason charge in 2017, Percy Chanda has alleged.

“Bushe mwebekala Chalo, ilyo ba HH babekete Ku mukobeko, mwa lyumfwilepo ba GBM ba landa ati ifyo ba PF bachita balufyanya [Country men and women, when HH was arrested and incarnated at Mukobeko. Did you hear GBM condemn and say what PF has done is wrong?]” Chanda stated.

Chanda, who is UPND Chairman for Mines said this during a special program on Prime TV on Monday, April 22.

And Chanda who spoke in Bemba throughout the program said the party has no tribalism as he is also Bemba as is the National Chairperson Mutale Nalumango, Deputy Secretary General Patrick Mucheleka and National Trustee Bernard Mpundu.

Meanwhile, Chanda disclosed that Hichilema tried to reconcile with GBM by involving arbitration. Chanda says Hichilema invited Chief Mukuni and Chief Munkonge to sit them down.
