Senior opposition PF member Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba (GBM) who spent a night in Police custody has been given a K300, 000 bail, reports Martha Banda.

GBM was released after he appeared in court where he is facing 28 counts involving failure to declare interest when he served as Defence Minister in 2012 and also being in possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime.

Speaking after he was set free, GBM described his arrest and charges as politically motivated coming following his resignation from UPND where he served as Vice president. He said all the 28 counts slapped on him will be reduced to zero by his legal team.

The outspoken politician said he has been too quite for some time but it’s now time to for him to go flat out mobilising his party the PF. He also said he will come out stronger out of this arrest.
