Funeral procession for Denis Liwewe underway

A funeral procession for a Veteran Soccer Commentator Denis Liwewe is underway in the Zambian capital, Lusaka, reports Zambian Eye Correspondent.

Hundreds of Zambians from different backgrounds have turned up for a church service at the  Cathedral of the Holycross.

By press time tribute messages were being said during a service that is also broadcast live on the country’s national broadcaster, ZNBC Television.

According to the programme, the church service will be followed by body-viewing before proceeding to Leaopards Memorial Park where the Soccer Veteran Commentator shall be put to rest.

The Zambian government has declared three days of national mourning that ends today (Saturday) at 6pm CAT.

Denis Liwewe 78 died this week on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Levy Mwanawasa General Hospital after an illness.
