Football players, supporters involved in a RTA along Kasama road

Chipando Health Stars football team players and supporters are reported to have been involved in a Road Traffic Accident (RTA) along Kasama road yesterday.

All passengers are said to have suffered multiple body injuries and were rushed to Kasama General Hospital and no deaths were recorded during press time.

However, the Fire Brigade team in conjunction with the Zambia Police Traffic Officers and Road Traffic and Safety Agency (RTSA) managed to rescue the players.

In a press statement issued by PR unit Kasama Municipal Council Fire Brigade says, the accident happened yesterday around 15: 09hrs along Mbala road at Mulambe Village near Kateshi tollgate involving a Toyota Canter, white in color with registration number AIB 4865 zm was driven by Bernard Bwalya Kapele aged 36 years who lost control and overturned after a front Ball-joint dislocation.

The PR unit says on board were about 35 Chipando Health Stars football team players and support staff who where coming from Nseluka and heading for Nkole Mfumu for football match.

The PR unit said that one adult male was trapped and suffered a broken arm and was extricated by Fire Brigade Personel using a hydraulic cutter/expander and a knife.
