Focus on domestic challenges, Govt urged

Operation Young Vote (OYV) has appealed to President Hakainde Hichilema and the new dawn administration not to be complaisant in attending to challenges facing the country.

Executive Director Guess Nyirenda says Government must ensure that they deliver in all areas where they have lacked, such as dealing with the high cost of living, ensuring that the mines are up and running, constitutional and legal reforms among many issues.

Meanwhile Nyirenda welcomes the description of President Hakainde Hichilema by the African Union Commission Chairperson, Moussa Faki Mahamat as being a selfless leader committed to uplifting not only the economic standards of Zambia but also that of Africa.

Nyirenda says he appreciates the description and acknowledgement of President Hakainde’s type of leadership, capabilities and credentials by such leaders of renowned stature on the continent and globally.

Nyirenda says the tributes gained by President Hichilema from all over the globe should not make government overlook the urgent need to deal with seemingly ‘ignored’ domestic matters.
