FAZ bans Simataa for life

Renowned football administrator and former Zambia U-17 national team coach Simataa Simataa has been handed a life ban from all football related activities by the Football Association of Zambia (FAZ)
for suing FAZ officials and for attacking the national soccer governing  body in the media.

The ban is the culmination of a stormy relationship the one-time FAZ boss has had with the Kalusha Bwalya led executive over the last few years.

In a letter dated 23rd March,2014 FAZ general secretary George Kasengele said the association
wrote to Simataa Simataa on 20th December,2013 and 27th January,2014 requesting him to exculpate himself regarding some disparaging comments he is alleged to have made about FAZ.

The former Zambia Football Coaches Association (ZAFCA) general secretary appeared on Radio Phoenix alongside Daniel Kaoma and Zacks Machaliwa were he allegedly attacked the association
contrary to the rules and regulations of the FA.

In response to the request by FAZ to exculpate himself the veteran football administrator wrote an e-
mail requesting the national football governing body to provide proof about there assertions the letter
states.

On 27th January FAZ wrote to Mr. Simataa directing him to appear before the FAZ disciplinary
committee on 1st February,2014 to answer to the following charges:

(A)The legal action taken against the employees of the Football Association of Zambia namely;
General Secretary Mr George Kasengele, Finance Manager Mr. Samuel Phiri, Communications
Manager Mr Erick Mwanza.(A matter which is still in court today.)

(B) Remarks against the Football Association of Zambia on a Radio Phoenix on 20th December,2013.

“The FAZ disciplinary committee sat on 1st February,2014 and deliberated on the two cases the
following were there resolutions:

(A) you are fined K200.00 for failing you appear before the disciplinary committee.

(B)you were found guilty of having violated the Football Association of Zambia disciplinary code article
7.10 and the Football association of Zambia constitution article 18.1(f).The committee therefore decided to ban you from all Football Association of Zambia activities for life.” The letter states.
