Father and son arrested for death of mobile money agent in Eastern Province

Police in Eastern Province have arrested two people in connection with the death of Emmanuel Nyirenda, a mobile money agent who was recently found dead in Katete.

According to Phoenix News, the suspects who are related as father and son have been identified as Charles Phiri and Joseph Chipepo both of Chipata district in Eastern Province.

Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Danny Mwale explains that the deceased was reported missing on June 10, 2022 around 14:00 hours and his body was found on June 11, 2022 around 07:00 hours near the airstrip in Katete District.

Mwale says initial investigations revealed that the victim was murdered in Chipata and his body dumped near Katete Airstrip in Katete District.
