Farmers diverts E-voucher money

Farmers in Choma have started withdrawing cash from the Agriculture E-voucher money in preference to buying school groceries and paying  fees for their children.

A check by our Correspondent Mastone Moonze in major shops of Choma on Monday found farmers buying shoes and groceries for their children going to boarding schools.

One of the farmers Griven Habwanga Bwanga from Mapanza area talked to said he has withdrawn the cash because of the expensive farming Inputs.

“We have no option but to get cash from the vouchers so that we send our children to school às well ás buying food for domestic consumption, Moonze! I am confused, fertiliser is very expensive plus other inputs so the best is to withdraw it for other programs, ” he said.
