Edgar Lungu will grace the Jubilee celebrations

Acting President Edgar Lungu will grace the Independence Jubilee celebrations at the Heroes Stadium in the Zambian capital, reports Zambian Eye Correspondent.

Vice president Guy Scott told Parliament Tuesday afternoon that Lungu will grace the occussion which is expected to be attended by Representatives from 26 countries. He said Foreign Diginitories are expected to start arriving in Zambia on Wednesday.

A fourtnight ago Dr Scott told Parliament that Eight African Presidents had confirmed that they would be attending the Jubilee celebrations. It is now not clear how many will flying to Lusaka following the President’s absence.

President Sata on Sunday night left the country for medical check-up abroad.

Acting President Lungu is expected to host a State Banquet to welcome Foreign Dignotries and Invited Guests on Thursday, October 23 evening at Intercontinental Hotel.
