Edgar Lungu is Acting President

Justice and Defence Minister Edgar Lungu is the Acting President following Michael Sata’s absence.

Lungu who is the ruling party – PF Chief Executive Officer and Chawama Member of Parliament confirmed in Lusaka that he is the one Acting as President.

President Sata left the country Sunday night in the company of his Wife, Spokesperson and family members for treatment abroad.

The brief Statement by he President’s Spokesperson George Chellah does not give details as to where President Sata has gone, for what kind of medical check-up and for how long.

This is the first time, the country is being informed of President Sata going for medication abroad. In the past the President has just sneaked in and out of the country.
