ECZ resumes announcing presidential results

The Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) is today, January 22, 2015 resuming announcing of results for the Presidential election that was suspended yesterday.

Chairperson Justice Ireen Mambilima suspended the tallying of results as the Commission to enable people vote from the 51 polling stations cast their votes. Voting had been delayed in the 51 polling stations in six districts of the country due to bad weather which made it difficult to deliver materials.

Four polling stations could not vote yesterday and were expected to do so today which amounts to 2, 754 votes.

Justice Mambilima said the Commission had decided to start announcing results.

Final results are expected to be announced by end of today.
