ECZ latest results show Lungu and HH neck and neck

The Electoral Commission of Zambia has announced its first batch of results from 80 constituencies accross the country with the ruling Patriotic Front’s candidate Edgar Lungu in the lead with 533.613 representing 50.85 percent closely followed by opposition UPND candidate Hakainde Hichilema who has 474.076 representing 45.18 percent.

Nevers Mumba of MMD came third with 8, 035 representing 0.77 percent, Edith Nawakwi polled 7, 697 representing 0.73 percent and Tilyenje Kaunda of UNIP has 4, 956 representing 0.47 percent.

On the sixth position was Elias Chipimo Jr. with 3, 358 votes representing 0.32 percent, followed by Eric Chanda of 4th Revolution Party polled 3, 292 votes representing 0.31 percent and Gen. Godfrey Miyanda with 3, 035 votes representing 0.29 percent.

Daniel Pule of Christian Democratic Party is on the nineth position with 1, 706 representing o.16 percent, followed by Ludwig Sondashi of Forum for Democratic Alternative polled 970 votes representing 0.09 percent and Peter Sinkamba took the last slot with 727 votes representing 0.07 percent.

Justice Ireen Mambilima announced that a total of 3, 034 920 are registered from these constituencies and 1. 049 418 did cast their votes with 10, 171 rejected. The  average turn up 34.58 percent.

Lungu is ahead of Hichilema with 59, 537 votes. The constituencies verified from each province are as follows:
