ECZ challenged to release withheld grade 12 results

Christopher Phiri from Kabwe has complained about the decision by the Examination Council of Zambia to withhold results for 385 grade 12 pupils..

The Examinations Council of Zambia -ECZ- has withheld results for the July-August GCE examinations owing to 385 cases of malpractice that were recorded.

ECZ Public Relations Manager Nicholas Nkhuwa says the cases recorded are high hence the withholding of results, adding that ECZ will only release the results when malpractice cases are cleared.

And the pupils have complained that the decision to hold on to their results is an emotional torture and also wrong by the examinations body.

One of the pupils who spoke on condition of annonimity has lamented that the accusations by ECZ are unfair and should not stand on their way to access their results.
