“Economic downturn won’t win UPND 2016 elections”

A blogger on Zambian Eye has observed that the opposition UPND will not win the 2016 elections based on the current economic downturn being experienced.

Mpandashalo Mwewa says it is burying one’s head in the sand to predict a sure victory for UPND and it’s leader Hakainde Hichilema in the upcoming tripartite elections.

In every election, even parliamentary by-elections, UPND cadres believe it’s time for the UPND, they are like ostriches with their heads in the sand.
Explain anything, they just close off their ears and tell you the same story, HH is winning come whatever time. Ask them why? “We have 100% vote in Southern, Western, North Western and Central provinces and we have made inroads in Lusaka and Copperbelt provinces”.
But recently in Western province, they lost their parliamentary seat to the PF. Same applies to the one that took place in Central province. So how can they be sure of 100% vote in these two provinces.
All level headed political analysts say these will be the only likely votes to be shared between the two parties while the rest will be for the UPND (Southern and North Western) and the PF (Muchinga, Luapula, Northern, Eastern, Lusaka and Copperbelt). The Mutatis and Kateles of this world helped HH in January but have since gone back after the UPND’s elitist political philosophy. The global economic downturn will not win the UPND the 2016 but how they sell their manifesto. Unfortunately, the only manifesto they have is HH. Happy Wednesday Guys!!!

He was reacting to another blogger Anna Banda who said victory was certain for UPND whatever PF will do.

” The PF party will do all it can do…. …and will use all unsafe means to win the 2016 general election but let them be warned that We in UPND are using all safe means to win the 2016 election….mind you we lead in Lusaka….Southern…Western …Northwestern….Central and the ground is fertile on the Cb….for a win.
We shall do much better in Eastern …Northern…Muchinga and Luapula….than we have never done before…and thats our Victory in 2016…HH2016.”
