The United Party for National Development (UPND) in Eastern Province says Geoffrey Bwalya Mwamba’s rejoining of the ruling Patriotic Front PF Party has not shaken the party in any way.
Speaking to Breeze FM in an interview, UPND Provincial Spokesperson Victor Mbuzi says this is because Mwamba, commonly known as GBM, had no serious impact on the party.
He pointed out that GBM’s daughter Sibongile contested a parliamentary seat in Kasama but she could not win, a thing he says was a sign that GBM has no impact even in his own village.
Mbuzi explained that despite being summoned on several occasions by the party executive, GBM decided to leave the party instead of exculpating himself, a move he says has been welcomed by UPND.
And Mbuzi has warned party members who are in the habit of forming parallel structures that they will be disciplined adding that GBM’s incidence should serve as warning to all unruly members.
GBM he has come to pf with vicious intentions
