Dr Scott, Sata’s widow, Miles Sampa endorse HH

Guy Scott, Miles SampaFormer Republican president and founder member of the ruling Patriotic Front Guy Scott, widow to PF founder Dr. Christine Kaseba Sata and Democratic Front president Miles Sampa are at the opposition UPND press briefing.

The trio and others are are expected to endorse the candidature of Hakainde Hichilema in the August 11 General election.

Update after the briefing:

1. Attendance was  in thousands

2. DF partnered with the UPND to work together through a written agreement (contents not availed to the media), both signatories were in very high and jovial mood, and contrary to observations about faces, they were actually smiling and laughing through out, moments observed are times either side was either talking or listening to the other.

3. Miles Sampa did NOT defect to the UPND but rallied his party and ENTIRE membership to work with the UPND,

4. His National leadership in the DF included Racheal Chileshe, Na Chibe Chibe

5. Former Vice President and also former President (For three months), Dr Guy Scot came a long with Mr Sampa (still PF MP) and ENDORSED HH as such for 11 August, and rubbished the PF and Lungu as having taken the vision of sata to the dogs,

6. Hon Anthony Mwila from Kalulushi came all the way from Kalulushi to endorse HH for 11 August, and promised

A Ms Mhango is deputy SG of narep endorsed HH and joined to work with the UPND,

7. Two freedom Fighters endorsed HH, one said economy will only improve when agriculture is part of the country’s serious business and the only person who can do that is HH, while Mr Mbayimbayi blessed HH, GBM, Dr Banda, Miles Sampa, and Dr Scot, and no other was allowed to replicate such a blessing to prevent some superstitious undertakings on the blessed leaders

8. Several others spoke, but the event was mainly the D/UPND partnership to which Dr Scot said he will ensure it does not fail as the case was between the PF and UPND in 2011.
