89 year old Zambia’s First President Dr Kenneth Kaunda has been admitted to Lusaka Trust Hospital, reports Zambian Eye Chief Correspondent in Lusaka.

Dr. Kaunda who will be turning 90 in April was complaining of fatigue and has been in hospital since Thursday, February 20, 2014.

A top official told Zambian Eye that the former president was admitted in the afternoon on Thursday.

A Veteran retired politician who served as a Member of UNIP’s Central Committee told Zambian Eye on Thursday that the former president has not been well.

But Dr. Kaunda’s daughter Cheswa confirmed that her father was in hospital but said his condition is improving.

  1. May the Lord Almighty give comfort and healing to our “Madiba”. I really was inspired by this man while growing up in Zambia’s remotest rural of rural places in the late 60s. While in Form 1 I read “Zambia Shall be Free” one of his early writings. Boy, did we not love that man in those days before ticks (parastic human beings) convinced him that he was ‘wamuyaya” and he became a dictator!! We still love you Pa. Quick recovery. I keep watching your Video at late Madiba’s funeral. Very inspiring and sharp, you were. How could they burry your history in the struggle against insjustice?? Never. Your legacy shall live forever.
