Davis Chama is Acting President

President Edgar Lungu travelled to Bostwana for Kasane Elephant Summit leaving the Minister of Defense, Hon Davies Chama to act.

According to the government sources, Chama took over the reigns of power this morning after President Lungu left for Botswana as Vice President Inonge Wina is still in South Africa.

Meanwhile President Lungu landed safely in Botswana for the elephant project.

According Zambian High Commission in Gaborone Press Secretary Kasabo Kalusa, Four Heads of Government gathered in Kasane to discuss and review the status of the African Elephant.

“It has been learnt that at the last census of Elephants in 2015, Angola, Botswana, Namibia, Zambia & Zimbabwe collectively hold 293,447 elephants” Kalusa said in a statement.

Others who attended include, Angola’s Environment Minister, President Masisi of Bostwana, President Hage Geingob of Namibia and President Emerson Mnangagwa of Zimbabwe.
