Dan Pule refused to be tried by a Magistrate from Zambezi region

Member of the opposition alliance UKA Dan Pule says a Magistrate from Southern province or Zambezi region would not give him a fair trial in his tribal hate case.

Reverend Pule who heads a political party called Christian Democratic Party (CDP) revealed this in an application made in court on 13th June 2024 (yesterday) by his lawyers.

Rev Pule wants the Magistrate to rescue herself in the matter. He has made an application for the court to make a determination.

Principal Resident Magistrate Silvia Munyinya is the Magistrate assign to handle Rev Pule’s case He says the fact that the Magistrate hails from the Southern region of this country who are a subject in the case she may not give him a fair judgement.

Rev Pule has hired some renowned lawyers – Sakwiba Sikota of Central Chambers and Chifumu Banda of Chifumu Banda and Associates among others to defend him.
