Zambia’s capital Lusaka are surrounding areas will have no power supply for five days, ZESCO has announced.
The power supply will be cut from Wednesday January 13th to Monday the 18th.
This according to ZESCO is aimed at carrying out maintenance works at the company’s transformers.
It is the longest period in history that the capital city will have no power supply. The country is currently facing energy crisis which authorities say is caused by low water levels. The city is loadshedded for 12 hours everyday. With the poor rainfall being experienced this season one wonders what will happen this year.
Lusaka this week also experienced water crisis after Lusaka Water and Sewerage Company shut down water supply to the entire city following an accident involving a vehicle which left the main supply line vandalized at Lusaka Water Works station in Libala.
