Monze Based Artists Joe Chilomo otherwise known as Crazy Boy says the Southern Music Industry is doomed to fail if the local business community does not invest in it.

Chilomo says artists in Lusaka and the Copperbelt have made significant progress in recent years, due to investment by companies such as Kalandanya Music Promotions.

He told Byta FM that increased funding is required if Southern Artists are to produce quality videos and shows that are up to the international standard.

Chilomo has since urged southen business houses and the community to consider the local music industry as a lucrative business opportunity.

Meanwhile, a resident of Monze’s Moomba Constituency Sunwell Nakayuwa has challenged politicians to recruit Moomba based artists for their campaigns in the area.

Nakayuwa said the importing of artists from constituencies such as Monze Central is not inclusive and deprives local artists of a chance to profit.

He urged politicians to tap into local talent, warning that Moomba youths may boycott political rallies if their colleagues are not recruited. -Byta FM
