Riot at CBU

Lecturers at Copperbelt University have gone on a go slow over pay amid a revolt by students over boarding space.

The students engaged in running battles with police last night after the university authorities banned squatting on campus.

Tear gas had to be thrown as police tried to put the situation under control.

Students are subletting bed share to other stranded learners, and the management want to stop it, hence the riot.

Meanwhile, the university’s lecturers are on a go slow over pay, this is entering the fourth week.
