The Constitutional Court has reversed the nullification of the Itezhi-tezhi seat made by Lusaka High Court Magistrate Pixie Kasonde Yangailo.

Delivering Judgement this morning, Constitutional Court Judge Palan Mulonda reversed the nullification and declared Herbert Shabula as duly elected and winner of the 2016 Parliamentary Seat for Itezhi-tezhi Constituency in Central province.

The Lusaka High Court nullified the election of Shabula after losing candidate Greyford Monde petitioned the election results in the Lusaka High Court on grounds that Shabula employed rigging schemes during the parliamentary elections.

This means Shabula retains the Itezhi tezhi seat as the duly elected Member of Parliament. He was represented by a gallant team of lawyers comprising of Counsel Mulambo Haimbe, Counsel Keith Mweemba, Counsel Gilbert Phiri and Counsel Nchimunya Mwange.
