Clifford Mulenga happy with his citizenship switch, hopes to play for Bafana Bafana

Zambian Footballer Clifford Mulenga says he is now looking forward to playing for South Africa National Team popularly known as Bafana Bafana.

Reacting to his decision to change citizenship, Mulenga says he is happy and hoping to be part of the Bafana Bafana team. Mulenga who plays for SuperSport United said this in a tweet.

The 26 year old Zambian  player according to local media has been granted citizenship by South Africa. Mulenga is yet to receive the physical ID from the Home Affairs Department, but he has been given an Identity (ID) number and has since been registered by Matsatsantsa.

Mulenga has not played for SuperSport this season as he was made to wait for citizenship in South Africa, with the club looking to register him as a non-foreigner rather than use up a spot in their foreign quota.

He joined SuperSport in 2012 from Bloemfontein Celtic. In Zambia Mulenga has not been called after he was ejected from the team by Coach Herve Renard for breaking camp during the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.
