Citizens arrest cop

Some Lusaka residents this evening effected a citizen arrest on a police officer and took to Manda Hill police post after a botched hit and run incident.

The yet to be identified cop allegedly ran over a pedestrian with a Zambia Police vehicle and attempted to speed off but was apprehended by members of the public after his vehicle overturned.

Eye witnesses have told Diamond News that the victim who was hit, has since been taken to the University Teaching Hospital by good Samaritans.

They indicated that he may be dead.

Officers on the scene have indicated that the vehicle registration number ZP 137C is from the Zambia police headquarters .

The incident occurred near the junction of Bwinjimfumu and Geat East Roads.
