Cite PF attack ‘dogs’ for contempt, HH’s lawyers urged

There are increasing calls from a cross section of citizens that the incarcerated UPND President’s lawyers must cause a judicial process to cite Mumbi Phiri, Sunday Chanda, Kennedy Kamba, Bowman Lusambo and Emmanuel Mwamba to court for contempt.

The five have used every available opportunity to comment and even predict the outcome of the court decisions in a manner that seems to have prejudiced the process.

Magistrate Simusamba advised defence counsels that they could proceed contempt processes as a different case from the main one. Many people have decried the impunity with which the five have commented on the ongoing case, and insist that it would be fair and just to the accused that they be brought before court to account for their utterances.

Yesterday Emmanuel Mwamba told the South African News network eNCA that Hakainde Hichilema and his co accused, committed the treasonous acts in October and not at the Kuomboka ceremony. This is actually contraly to what is before court
