Chipolopolo Stars jet in for Uganda friendly

The Zambia National Football Team foreign based players have started arriving in the country ahead of a friendly match against Uganda on Wednesday, reports Zambian Eye Sports Correspondent.

And the Uganda national football team delegation comprising of 12 officials and 18 players arrived in Ndola Monday afternoon.

According to information update on Zambia’s FA Facebook Page, Chisamba Lungu, Emmanuel Mayuka, Davies Nkausu, Nathan Sinkala and Stopilla Sunzu are the latest foreign-based players to join the Chipolopolo camp.

Mayuka, Sinkala, Nkausu and Sunzu joined the rest of the squad at the team hotel at 13:00hrs on Monday while Chisamba arrived in the evening at 19:00hrs.

Rodger Kola also joined camp on Monday morning while Joseph Musonda and Hichani Himonde arrived on Sunday.

Team Manager Lusekelo Kamwambi was on hand to welcome the players at the airport and told fazfootball.com that the arrival of foreign-based players was important because they would provide options for coach Patrice Beaumelle.

“This is the first home game under coach Beaumelle so it is important that he has his best players available for an important match like this one. We want to give our fans the best game and it is also important for the coach to record his first win as head coach of the chipolopolo,” said Kamwambi.

Kamwambi also confirmed that Kennedy Mweene, Rainford Kalaba, Kabaso Chongo and Emmanuel Mbola were expected to join the squad on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, the Uganda national football team delegation comprised of 12 officials and 18 players arrived in Ndola on Monday afternoon. The delegation is being accommodated at Mukuba Hotel in Ndola. They held their first training session at Trade Fair Ground and not at Mwanawasa Stadium as earlier arranged because the pitch had become soggy due to heavy rains.
