Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Zhou-Yuxiao

The Chinese Government has provided US$300 million for the construction of 400 km to be constructed in Lusaka under the project dubbed L400.

Under the project over 400 km of roads in the City will be worked on at a cost of K1.8 billion.

The project involves the rehabilitation, construction and upgrading of 400km of selected urban roads to bituminous standards.

Chinese Ambassador to Zambia Zhuo Yuxiao confirmed the development in Lusaka today August 16, 2013 when Works and Supply Minister Yamfwa Mukanga officially launched the project.

Mukanga said the 43 months project will improve city public infrastructure such as lighting and drainage systems.

And Lusaka Province Minister Obvious Mwaliteta said Government is committed to giving Lusaka residents and the citizens across the country good and long lasting roads.

Mwaliteta said Government will spare no effort to ensure it lives to the expectation of the Zambian people.
