Chief Mpezani assures Lungu of victory

FB_IMG_1453909945120President Lungu has held a 90-minutes closed door meeting with His Royal Highness Paramount Chief Mpezeni and his Royal Council of 8 Chiefs at Ephendukeni Palace.


The Chiefs assured the President that the massive infrastructure development that has taken place since PF Party came to power in 2011 will be reciprocated by the people of Eastern Province on August 11 this year.The Paramount Chief said he would be surprised if the people did not overwhelmingly vote for the party and President that have fulfilled most the promises made before they came to power.


The job you are doing now is on behalf of your elder brother the late Michael Sata and you are doing it well and we want you to continue. You have our support and please continue to complete all the remaining projects your government started.


The President assured the chiefs that solar-powered milling plants will so be installed in Eastern Province so that mealie meal prices can come down as is the case in Kasama and Solwezi where ZCF has rolled out the programme.


We are building strong local economies through the promotion of cooperatives and this is what we know can work for rural areas.


Earlier, the President had a tough time making it through Kapata Market where scores of supporters mobbed him. At Kapata Market, the President promised to provide shelter for the remaining part of the Market which is still open.


The President is now addressing a meeting of Party Officials from all Structures of the Party in the Province. He has urged the Party supporters to forge intra-party unity and also ensure that collaboration with the MMD is strengthened so that the Province delivers maximum votes this year.


Later in the afternoon, the President travelled to Mfuwe in Mambwe to meet six Kunda chiefs and later addressed a public meeting.


The Presidential Delegation includes PF Deputy SG Mumbi Phiri , RDA Chairman Samuel Mukupa, Hon Kampyongo, Hon. Mulenga Sata, Hon Malozo Sichone, Hon. Charles Zulu, Hon Isaac Banda, and special assistants Amos Chanda, Lucky Mulusa and Hibeene Mwiinga – State House Press Office.
