Provincial Chairperson Andrew Lubusha says that the ruling party is grateful to all the voters that voted for the ruling party.

Lubusha has directed all the candidates, who won the elections to move to the new districts within 21 days.

He says that he is aware that all the candidates who won the elections in Chasefu, Chipangali, Kasenengwa, Lumezi and Lusangazi do not stay in the new districts.

Lubusha says that the winners need to immediately get down to work so that they can deliver on the promises made to electorates during campaigns.

The PF has won the Chasefu, Chipangali, Kasenengwa, Lumezi and Lusangazi.

It has also scooped the Lusaka Mayoral election, Chifunabuli, Chilanga and five other local government by-elections while UPND has won only one seat.

Meanwhile the United Party for National Development (UPND) has described the PF victory in the July 26 elections as insignificant.

Provincial Chairperson, Paul Thole says that the outcome of the elections is not a true reflection of the situation on the ground.

He says that the high voter apathy recorded in the elections is a sign of no confidence in government or a protest against the leadership.

Thole says that the outcome of the election also does not have any impact on what will be the outcome of the 2021 general elections.

He says that it is important to note that while UPND did not use too much money in the elections, the PF spent colossal sums of money in the campaigns including using high party officials and ministers to campaign.

But PF Provincial Chairperson Andrew Lubusha has dismissed the statement that the high voter party recorded in the elections was a vote of no confidence in government.

He says that if people are unhappy with the government, they would have demonstrated by ensuring that they do not vote for PF candidates.

Lubusha says that the fact that people voted for PF is a sign that government is delivering on its promises and people are happy.
