Under-20 assistant coach Charles Bwale has appealed to soccer fans to be patient with his side as they move toward qualification for the 2019 Niger Africa Cup of Nations.

And Rwanda coach Vincent Mashami said his team lost the battle at their home ground when they were beaten 2-0 in Kigali.
Bwale said fans that were booing his team when results were not forthcoming during the match could have considered that most of the lads in the team were young and still learning.

He said that fans should guard against comparing the U20 class of 2017 that lifted the trophy with the current crop of players.
“I would like to appeal to our soccer fans here in Zambia, this is a young team, one month old and their expectations should not be high compared to the one that lifted the AFCON,” he said.
“These are just young ones, most of them have never been exposed to such a crowd. There is need for support from our fans, otherwise with time we have a great U20.”
Bwale said the team piled too much pressure on itself during the match against Rwanda hence failing to tuck away opportunities.

And his opposite lamented the 2-0 first leg loss that he blamed for the elimination from the race to Niger.
A goal from Wigan Athletic starlet Mwiya Malumo gave Zambia the lead but Guelette Samuel Leopold Marie equalized to leave the two sides sharing spoils with Zambia qualifying 3-1 on aggregate.

Zambia’s opponents in the final qualifying round are either Burundi or Sudan who are in action later today (Sunday).

  1. Fans should be booing Bwale and the technical committee for biases selection.

  2. If Mufulira Wanderers had not given Charles Bwale chance by getting him from Samfya where would he be today?
The same way he was given a chance by Mighty,he should also cast his net wide so that those who deserve a call up are also given a chance.
