Zambia’s opposition leader Hakainde Hichilema has cautioned the people to brace themselves for hard times under the Patriotic Front government.
Contributing to a Monday Talk Show this morning on Sky FM Mr. Hichilema who is the leader of United Party for National Development (UPND) said Zambians are heading for hard times because the cost of living is going to be high.
“The price of Mealie Meal has gone up, Electricity tariffs will go up and (power) blackouts will increase,” Hichilema said. “Transport fares will increase people should brace for hard times.”
The UPND leader says in simple language the country was heading towards experiencing inflation. He said the farmers were unable to sell their products while people are failing to send their children to schools due to lack of resources.
He said there was failure on part of the PF government to develop the country and asked Zambians to put in a good leadership that will put good polices to steer the country to prosperity. HH noted that Agriculture is key to national development.
HH took a swipe at a regular Choma resident Oppah Hamiyanzi caller whom he said was contributing to the programme with ignorance. Hamiyanza has been shifting camps from PF to MMD and now back to PF.
HH said with agro industries created this was going to create jobs for people in rural areas and stop urban migration.
“We will stop people like Hamiyanzi from migrating to Matero,” said HH.
The UPND leader said he feels embraced with the behavior Himiyanzi was exhibiting liking him to a dog barking.
