Bowman says if Nevers is not adopted MMD will die

As MMD youths, we are shocked that some members of our National Executive Committee have elected to support the candidature of former President Rupiah Banda on the MMD ticket.

As we have stated before, the return of Mr Banda to politics is bad business for Zambia. This is retrogressive and only goes to serve personal and selfish interests.

We wish to warm that failure to adopt Dr Nevers Mumba as presidential candidate will mark the end of the MMD. As youths in the party, we will work to annihilate the MMD if Dr Mumba is not given the adoption ticket.

We cannot sit and watch our beloved MMD be dragged in ancient form of politics by a small group interested in serving its own selfish interests.

Dr Mumba has made several personal sacrifices to ensure that the MMD stays afloat. He used his strong leadership skills to make the MMD attractive once more. Majority of those supporting Mr Banda abandoned the MMD, they are now regrouping because they know they will milk some money from him.

It should be stated in no uncertain terms that we will ensure that the MMD is no if Dr Mumba is sidelined. We will work flat out to ensure that the party is buried in the annals of history.
Mr Banda should be reminded that just three years ago, he was soundly rejected by majority of Zambians. What does he think has changed in the last three years?

Looking at events of last few weeks, we have made some conclusions, Mr Banda is a greedy and destructive old man who does not deserve any form of respect. He can never be a statesman. What kind of a man abandons his sick wife battling with cancer to come and grab a political party he voluntarily left?
