B’Flow lashes out at ECZ
Popular musician Brian Bwembya affectionately known as B’Flow has taken a swipe at the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) saying it hasn’t done enough when it comes to voter registration.
He says this year’s voter registration has not been publicised adequately.
B’Flow adds that the electoral management body still has a long way to go in terms of voter awareness, yet it is planning to close registration on 11 November 2025.
“Closing VOTER REGISTRATION on 11th November when MANY CITIZENS have not even been made aware of the exercise is an INJUSTICE,” he says.
Posting on his Facebook account, B’Flow urged the youths to register to vote, saying 2026 belongs to young people.
“2026 belongs to young people. However, being young is not enough. You’ve got to have substance and a vision for your people. Let’s do this,” he said.
Apparently, on the other hand, ECZ says it has intensified voter registration exercise in preparations for the forthcoming the 2026 General Election.
Delivering a speech during the provincial briefing in Kabwe recently, Commissioner McDonald Chipenzi stated that the Commission is conducting orientation programmes across all the ten provinces to ensure the smooth implementation of the exercise.
He said the Mass Voter Registration exercise will run from 13th October to 11th November 2025 in all 156 constituencies nationwide.
He went on to say that in addition, an Online Pre-Registration portal was made available from 15th September to 3rd November 2025, enabling eligible citizens to initiate registration online before completing the process in person with biometric and portrait capture.
The Commissioner further announced that the inspection of the provisional register of voters will take place from 17th to 23rd February 2026, while the final register of voters will be certified on 30th April 2026.
Commissioner Chipenzi stressed that the Mass Voter Registration is a critical milestone in Zambia’s electoral process, anchored on inclusion and accessibility to ensure that no eligible citizen is left behind.
He further urged District Voter Education Coordinators, Human Resource Coordinators, Provincial and District Electoral Officers to execute their responsibilities with professionalism, transparency and diligence.
“The Mass Voter Registration is about ensuring that every eligible citizen, whether in urban centres or remote rural areas, has the opportunity to register and take part in the 2026 General Election,” Commissioner Chipenzi said.
Adding to this, Provincial Registration Officer (PRO) Clint Susiku urged District Voter Education Committee (DVEC) Secretaries and Human Resource Coordinators to ensure the effective implementation of the briefing’s objectives in their respective districts.
“As DVEC Secretaries, you must spearhead the allocation of voter education materials and resources in your districts,” Susiku emphasised.
In his welcoming remarks, Kabwe District Registration Officer (DRO) Jovax Ngoma highlighted the importance of producing a credible and accurate voters’ register at the end of the exercise.
