Beautification and maintenance of Kabwe and Kafue roundabouts put on hold

The beautification and maintenance of the Kafue and Kabwe roundabouts has been put on hold as a result of the Lusaka decongestion project that will see the creation of a ring road, from the great east road, through Kenneth Kaunda international airport to the great north road in Chisamba district.

Lusaka City Council Acting Public Relations Officer, George Sichimba explains that in the decongestion project, the two roundabouts will have to be constructed in uniform with modern development financed by the government of Zambia and Exim bank of India at a cost of us$389 million on the share of 15% and 85% respectively.

In an interview with phoenix news, Sichimba said the pillars of the Lusaka decongestion project are expected to be anchored on the two roundabouts.
