Avoid personal attacks, UPND urges rivals

The opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) has advised other political parties to desist from engaging in ‘personal kind of politics’.

UPND Deputy Spokesperson Edwin Lifwekelo says political parties instead need to be objective in the manner they present themselves.

Lifwekelo says Zambians are expecting the leaders of political parties especially the PF and the UPND to be analytical and discuss real issues.

He has observed that political parties are diverting from real issues by concentrating so much on personal attacks.

Lifwekelo has encouraged political parties to try by all means to discuss real issues and give Zambians an opportunity to make informed decisions on august 11^th.

Meanwhile Bishop John Mambo says the country’s democracy must continue growing.

Bishop Mambo says events in the recent past, have not portrayed the country’s democratic tenants.

He says Zambia has always been an example in terms of being a democratic nation which should continue.

Bishop Mambo explains that the heroes fought so much for this democracy and thus the need to ensure that it keeps growing citing that this is one way of honoring those who fought for it.

He adds that people regardless of which political parties they belong to should have the freedom of speech as well as to assemble.

Bishop Mambo that Zambians will not allow the democracy that it has fought for so much to be done away with.
