ARVs shortage looming reports dismissed

The Treatment Advocacy and Literacy Campaign –TALC- has dismissed reports that there is a looming shortage of antiretroviral drugs (ARVS) in some parts of the country.

TALC National Director Felix Mwanza says although there are widespread reports on the looming shortage of the drugs, people living with HIV/AIDS should not panic as such reports are untrue.

Mwanza told Phoenix News that from the surveillance programme, TALC agents dotted across the country have not noted any shortage of the life prolonging drugs.

He explained that the drugs are adequate as evidenced by the fact that many people on ARVS have been receiving the drug in doses of six months in advance.
