Zambia’s flag carriers in the CAF Confederation Cup Zesco United fought back from two goals down to record an important 2-2 away draw to Enugu Rangers in Nigeria this afternoon.
Zesco United fell behind in the 24th minute through a Chibuzor Madu penalty that was won by Osas Okoro.
Okoro doubled the lead in the 46th minute leaving Zesco United with a mountain to climb but the Zambian side picked themselves up with David Owino hitting the back of the net in the 71st minute and Patrick Kongolo completing the comeback five minutes later.
Zesco and Enugu Rangers will face off in Ndola over the weekend in second leg of the pre group stage tie.
The 2016 CAF Champions League semi finalists got to this stage after beating Burundi side Les Messager Ngozi through a 4-2 aggregate result.
