President Edgar Lungu who once confessed that there was rampant corruption within his administration has called on those who claim to fight corruption do so in a non selective way.

Lungu said corruption should be fought head-on, without fear or favour irrespective of who is committing it.

Speaking in Ndola recently, Lungu questioned the sincerity of the Anti-Corruption Commission saying the fight against corruption in Zambia has been politicized.

He accused anti-corruption advocates of scheming for regime change, bent on trying to remove him from power.

Lungu said it is useless to target a few individuals when suspected corruption is happening in other sectors.

The President said the genuine fight against corruption will require the vice to be addressed at every level of society.

Lungu said corruption is retrogressive in that it makes the government spend more when it can spend less and channel resources to other areas.

Meanwhile, Lungu stands accused of allowing corruption take root within his administration.
