ACC arrests Chitotela

The Anti-Corruption Commission in Lusaka has arrested Housing and Infrastructure Development minister Ronald Chitotela and charged him with nine counts of possession and concealing of property suspected to be proceeds of crime.

Chitotela had this morning appeared before ACC officers for interrogations on more corruption allegations.

“Honourable Ronald Chitotela, 47, has been charged with one count of Concealing Property suspected of being proceeds of crime, and eight counts of possession of property suspected to be proceeds of crime contrary to Section 71 subsection (1) of the Forfeiture of Proceeds of Crime Act Number 19 of 2010,” reads and official statement from the ACC obtained by Zambian Eye.

Chitotela has since been released on Bond and will appear in court soon.

The minister is already facing charges relating to concealing two properties suspected to be proceeds of crime before the Lusaka Magistrates Court.
