A UPND councillor dispels alleged defections to the ruling party

Opposition UPND Sikalongo ward councillor in Choma central constituency Phanuel Siagwelele has dispelled mass exodus rumors of party members to the ruling party. Speaking in an interview Mr Siagwelele said UPND is still intact in the district and the province as a whole.

He has since challenged PF officials in the province to prove their claimed popularity by winning the fourth coming by elections in Batoka ward.”If PF has entered Choma district then the litmus paper for their popularity will be in the Batoka ward by elections” says the civic leader.

He said the party is not moved with Opper Hamiyanze’s alleged PF popularity in choma district .

He said the party is just waiting for ECZ to give dates for the by elections in Batoka ward so that PF can believe that Hamiyanze is not a factor in Choma and that people of Choma can not follow the party he supports due to his recent conviction of a bounced cheque and other court cases.

He said its sad that the ruling party has people like Mr.Hamiyanze sighted to be trustees when he himself Knows that the people in his home area can not trust him for any position. He also challenged the just defected councilor in Batoka ward Mackson Simwami to honestly tell the truth whether his people in the ward are happy of him.

Meanwhile Mbabala constituency PF information and publicity secretary Mulima Mulima said he is delighted with the party growth in the constituency. He said from the time he was appointed as the IPS youths in the constituency are knocking on the doors for help. He said about 85 youths have defected from the opposition to join the ruling party.
