3 Congolese die in a road accident

Three people of Congolese National have died in a fatal road traffic accident which happened along Mokambo Kasumbalesa road in Congo DRC after their vehicles collided.

The accident occurred on April 11, 2023 at around 20:00 hours.

Copperbelt Police Commanding Officer Peacewell Mweemba said involved were two motor vehicles, a Fuso Fighter reg no 0580AT12 being driven by a Congolese national with two people on board who died on the spot.

Mweemba also said involved was a Zambian vehicle Volvo Truck reg no BCD 4329,BCE 2149T which had its front part extensively damaged and it was being driven by Kelvin Nondo 38.

He said that the accident happened when the stated motor vehicles were being driven in opposite directions and in the process the driver of the Volvo Truck failed to keep his lane and collided with the Fuso truck.

Mweemba said the Fuso was extensively damaged on the front part.

“The Congolese national have not yet been identified but are aged between 20 and 50 whose particulars are not known. The Zambian driver sustained a fractured left arm, right leg and was admitted to Catholic Hospital in Congo DRC,” he said.
