29 constituencies: Lungu maintains lead, HH narrows gap

The race to State House is neck and neck between incumbent President Edgar Lungu and the Opposition UPND candidate Hakainde Hichilema, with the later holding a slight lead.

According to the latest official results released by the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) from six constituencies, namely Zambezi East, Senanga, Mufulira, Chishimba, Siavonga, Kalulushi and Kaputa, Lungu had polled 262,149 against Hichilema’s 243,794.

This means Hichilema has reduced the difference between the two to 18,000.

Of the 29 constituencies released so far, Lungu has taken 19 while 10 have gone to Hichilema.
