Sata happy with Macron’s position on Zambia’s debt restructuring

Zambia’s Ambassador to France Dr Christine Sata has thanked French President Emmanuel Macron for advocating for Zambia’s debt restructuring program.

She says Macron’s advocacy will boost the current debt restructuring discussions between Zambia and its creditors and will instill confidence to other creditors supporting the country.

Kaseba explains that Macron worked to ensure that Zambia’s case was treated as urgent in the implementation of a common debt framework during a meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping on 15th November 2022 in Bali.

She is hopeful that successful restructuring of Zambia’s debt will result in affordable debt service repayment amounts and enable the country to redirect its resources to the economic and social sectors. Byta Fm
