Zambia joins the World to celebrate 2018

The world is celebrating new year, 2018. In the Zambian capital the celebrations have been characterised with fireworks and social gatherings.

A snap check on the new year eve in Lusaka found big gatherings in bars with revellers enjoying themselves while others were gathered in Churches for over night prayers.

15 minutes to midnight, fireworks sounds, lights characterised the skies. In residential areas people came out of their homes to witness the turn into the new year which was symbolised by firing of fireworks.

Countries like New Zealand, Australia and some countries in Asia were the first to enter into the new year, as they eight hours ahead.

In Zambia, the Head of State delivered a national address on both radio television assuring citizen of his government’s commitment to better their lives. He promised of 5% economic growth from the slight over 1% in 2017.

President Lungu whose government has been labeled of corruption promised to maintain the inflation at a single digit.

Although the ordinary citizens have continue to wallop in abject poverty, President Lungu said the economy was in a better position with a stable currency performance than when he tookover 2 years ago.

  1. NOT ALL ZAMBIANS CELEBRATED NEW YEAR!!! SOME WERE KILLED FOR TRYING TO JOIN THE REST OF THE WORLD IN CELEBRATING THE COMING OF 2018. THIS SHOULD BE SENT TO THE REST OF THE WORLD TOGETHER WITH PICTURES OF THE DEAD AND INJURED JUST TO LET THE WORLD KNOW HOW NEW YEAR IS CELEBRATED IN ZAMBIA UNDER KOSWE GOVERNMENT.
