  1. ” A drowning man will clutch at a straw”. Because Zambia has no measurable achivements in any field, this small achievement by children is being blown up as a national feat worthy of two weeks celebrations. I am sure that in no time the team will be awarded plots of land in Lusaka, money and will be feted at State House!

    • It’s a good thing to celebrate and hopefully will encourage investment in sports programs going forward. However, I agree there is a bit of bread and circus approach here – entertainment for the masses to avoid dealing with the real problems the country is facing.
Those problems will come back to bite in the ass, though.
