In the gospel of our Lord, it is recorded that during last supper, Jesus Christ foretold what would happen to him.

“Now when evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the twelve disciples. As they were eating, He said, “Truly I say to you that one of you will betray Me.” Being deeply grieved, they each one began to say to Him, “Surely not I, Lord? And He answered, “He who dipped his hand with Me in the bowl is the one who will betray Me. “The Son of Man is to go, just as it is written of Him; but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been good for that man if he had not been born.”

Matthew 26 v 20 to 24

It was just last Saturday that the Matero Lawmaker, in his fashion as Fr. Christmas, dined with his followers from the Constituency and the Ward in Matero. The only thing he could not forewarn is who among those he was eating with would betray him and speak the loudest.

Miles, just like those disciples, need to learn a lesson about who truly gets to be your friend. Your friends are not the ones who show you the white teeth and call you “master”. Your best friends are those who stand by you at all times, whether things are good or bad. Your best friends are those who tell you when you naked and not say, “King, you well dressed”.

Today those who showered praises on Miles just last Satirday are the ones who are in the forefront demonising him, dancing for his possible downfall, etc. What has happened to Miles can happen to any of them and to any of us, also.

How I long for a time when loyalty, trust, confidentiality etc will become a hallmark of our politics. The big moral question for PF leaders in Matero Constituency after today is whether each ward will also refund the K1,000 and the Constituency will also refund that amount they got from Miles Sampa last Saturday since they have all accused him of creating parallel structures in Matero? Are they nor the same structures that are benefiting from his funds he is ditching out to parallel structures or they want to fool Edgar Lungu that they are not benefiting anything from Miles?

I have no doubt that soon Miles will be followed by security wings for some mistakes he could have committed while in power. I dread such a day.

  1. Miles is an immature rich spoilt boy.
Now understand why even his uncle Mr Sata could not trust him to be cabinet material. This is the end to success for this play boy. Grow up Miles! Grow up to be honorable!
