image001Copa Coca-Cola, the world’s largest brand-supported grassroots football initiative, will this week host 67 teens from 7 countries for a five-day International Africa Camp to forge friendships and gain valuable skills both on and off the pitch. The camp will take place at the state of the art High Performance Centre at the University of Pretoria in South Africa from 7th– 12th September 2015.  For its participants the camp will form the pinnacle of this year’s Copa Coca-Cola tournament, which has seen more than 1.3 million teens compete in over 60 countries globally.

Now in its 27th year, Copa Coca-Cola unites football-loving teens in every continent around the world, promoting an active, healthy lifestyle and encouraging values that are the foundation of life and sportsmanship. Teenagers from around Africa, aged between 13 and 16, were rewarded with an invitation to attend this year’s Copa Coca-Cola SABU Camp, after being identified as stand-out players from each of their regions. The five-day trip to South Africa will be packed with training sessions, workshops, games, events, coaching and guidance from some of top Copa Coca-Cola coaches.

The SABU Camp gives young players the opportunity to pursue their football dreams, make new friends from different countries and together recognise the importance of playing different roles within a team. Highlights of the Copa Coca-Cola® SABU camp will include opening and closing ceremonies, high intensity training sessions, an integrated knockout tournament and a tour of FIFA World Cup 2010 final venue, FNB Soccer City.  We need to include the Unity messaging

Yvonne Musoko, Franchice Senior Brand Manager, at Coca-Cola Zambia said: “Coca-Cola is delighted to welcome teens from around Africa to Pretoria to celebrate their love for football. With an action-packed schedule, the teens attending will have the opportunity to gain skills and enjoy new experiences with new friends in an inspiring atmosphere.

We hope the Copa Coca‑Cola SABU Camp will provide memories for a lifetime and inspire teens to further pursue their footballing passion for years to come.” Unity messaging that crosses all cultural differences and football is the one language that brings them all together.
