Residents set shops on fire in Katete

Riots have broken out in Katete district of Eastern province and reports reaching Zambian Eye is that residents are angered with with alleged brutal murder of a pupil by the name of Naom, a G12 at Katete Day High School. She was murdered last week oh her way home from studies early in the morning.

Information coming through to us is that some pupils from various schools in Katete and Chipata and some residents have set ablaze various Shops owned by suspects linked to the ritual murder of a teenage girl.

Eye witnesses disclosed that Kaysons Wholesalers an Indian Businessman Shop is currently on fire and Mr Paris Shop belonging to a local businessman popularly known as Mr Paris who also owns Paris Lodge and many other shops have been burnt to ashes and looted sparing only PEP Store and DAPP. A Police officer is reportedly to have been severely injured  leaving him with a broken leg.

Police last week launched a Man hunt for the killers and managed to nab one suspect who according to insiders close to the investigations has disclosed some names of local and Indian Businessmen involved in the curtail of ritual murders.

  1. Ba zambineye yo statement is not perfect as hapening here in katete. Not all indian shop ar on fire no shop av been burnt bt a tyre was burnt on th tarmack to mozambique 1km frm Greateast road. Keson and mr paris thy ar nothng bt killers so plz ba eye th statement on yo newz is hard to coment
