International Institute of Certified Forensic Investigations professional government liaison director for Africa Gibson Mwewa has resigned from his position with immediate effect.

In a letter dated June 3, 2018 addressed to IICFIP president, Prof Mwewa said fighting financial crimes cannot be confined to mere rhetoric.
He explained that he had come to the realisation that the need and passion to help promote the fight against economic and financial crimes should be objective, neutral, above board and should not be compromised.
“Mr President championing and promoting the application of forensic expertise in fighting economic and financial crimes cannot be confined to academic rhetoric and cowardice in an environment where corruption, bribery, fraud and cybercrimes are threatening every moral fiber of our society and under mining every noble effort that challenge such criminal acts.
“Mr President, I have realized that the need and passion in me to help promote the fight against economic and financial crimes should be objective, neutral, above board and should not be compromised and should not be seen to compromise or be at conflict with the objectives of any institution that I may be associated with,” Prof Mwewa’s letter read in brief.

He added “It is with a sad heart that I herein tender my resignation from my role as country director-IICFIP Zambia and also as government liaison officer Africa-IICFI with immediate effect.”
